The Toughbook U1 is an ultra-portable, extremely rugged handheld PC. It's small size, at 5.9" long, 7.2" wide, and 2.2" thick, and 2.3lbs, makes it perfect to take anywhere your daily tasks take you. It's Intel® Atom Processor running Windows® XP Professional or Vista Business, 1GB SDRAM, and a 16GB hard drive (32GB optional) give you the power and storage you want in a portable handheld computer. It also has an SD card reader, a USB port, optional SmartCard reader, as well as an optional fingerprint reader, optional magnetic stripe reader, and the option to choose a 1D or 2D barcode reader or an RFID reader. You also have the option of a 2MP camera with dual LED light. You can stay connected anywhere with Draft-N WiFi, Bluetooth, and optional integrated Gobi 3G mobile broadband, optional GPS, and with a 9 hour battery life, you can stay in the field all day long. It's 5.6" touchscreen with anti-glare and anti-reflective technology and 61 key keyboard give you two control options.

The Toughbook U1 is also very rugged, so you don't have to worry when taking it wherever you need to go. It's built from magnesium alloy encased in ABS and a sealed all-weather design that's rain, spill, dust and vibration resistant making this Toughbook MIL-STD 810F certified and IP54 rated. Panasonic Toughbook U1 has a removable solid state drive, and it's 4 foot drop approved. It also has a TPM security chip V 1.2, and Computrace® theft protection agent in the BIOS. All of this is covered by a 3 year warranty extendable to 4 or 5 years with an option 3 to 5 year No Fault Protection Plus warranty.
